Description
Venus, the second planet from the Sun, is often referred to as Earth’s sister planet due to its similar size and composition. Its atmosphere is primarily carbon dioxide with clouds of sulfuric acid, creating a thick, toxic haze. Venus rotates slowly on its axis in the opposite direction of most planets, causing its retrograde motion. Its surface is marked by vast plains, highland regions, and thousands of volcanoes, including Maxwell Montes, the highest peak. The planet’s surface temperature is hot enough to melt lead due to its intense greenhouse effect. Despite its harsh conditions, Venus has been a target of scientific exploration, with numerous spacecraft missions aiming to unravel its mysteries.
